History & Principles

William Horn & Associates is four generations old, providing nearly one hundred years of sales experience to the foodservice industry.

In the early 1920's, James R. Hackett founded the agency, then called James R. Hackett and Associates. In 1948, the name changed to Hackett and Horn, when his son-in-law, Joseph B. Horn joined the agency.

After James R. Hackett retired in the early 1960's, the name changed to Joseph B. Horn Agency Inc. During the 1970's Joseph Horn's son, William Horn joined the agency.

After Joseph Horn retired in 1989, William Horn and Joseph Todak partnered to take over the day-to-day operation of the business, renaming the agency Horn & Todak Agency Inc.

In 2001, William Horn started operating in MAFSI region 5 as William Horn & Associates.

William Horn's eldest son, Greg Horn joined the agency in 2007, and his second eldest son, Jeff Horn joined the agency in 2018.

Our main office is located outside of Washington DC and services Maryland, DC, and Virginia.

All members of William Horn & Associates operate Office 365. We are a fully integrated workforce.

Our integrated system enables each team member to operate a mobile office while making sales calls throughout the region.

We have ample storage space for our manufacturers' product samples.

William Horn & Associates operate as a team. Although each member of our sales force operates in a specific territory, we coordinate our efforts to achieve a unified goal.

We share the work at local dealer shows and national shows, while continuously exchanging new information, techniques, and other industry information.

We are an aggressive agency dedicated to doing a job we are proud of.

By using modern merchandising methods, we ensure that our principals' products are sold in all sectors of the foodservice industry.

We provide flyers and maintain an increasing presence on the internet and social media sites, along with the deployment of other marketing tools, in order to ensure a growing awareness of our principles' merchandise.

For customers who do not have time to promote, but wish to do so on their own, we teach them effective time saving promotional methods to help boost their sales.
